The Northwest Florida State College Paramedic Program has as its goal “to prepare competent entry level Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedics in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills) and affective (behavior) learning domains.”
In the Northwest Florida State College Paramedic program students are provided the highest quality education to prepare to become competent leaders in the high place work of Emergency Medical Services. The Program incorporates advanced learning opportunities by integrating Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, International Trauma Life Support, response to disasters and advanced clinical education.
The Paramedic Program is three semesters (one year) of study beyond the Emergency Medical Technician-Basic level certificate. Graduates are eligible to sit for the Florida Paramedic certification exam and the National Registry examination. The curriculum forms the core of the Emergency Medical Services A.S. degree and students may add on general education credits and some college credit electives to the Paramedic Certificate to earn an Associate of Science degree in Emergency Medical Services.
The Northwest Florida State College Paramedic program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
