Students intending to transfer to a four-year institution for an upper level degree in Music can complete many general education requirements and core music courses plus select electives in the Humanities, Fine & Performing Arts Division.

A sample Program of Study for the Music Major can be printed out or saved. See your advisor and a representative of the music department to establish a formal program of study.

Furthermore, the division places a strong emphasis in Voice and vocal development and offers a broad spectrum of opportunities for aspiring singers and performers, including ensemble groups, recital performances, musical theater opportunities, and solo and ensemble performances for college and local events. Voice students will enroll in MVV1211 and will schedule lessons at an individual time; most students will be able to perform in the Division Recital series. Recitals take place on alternate Friday afternoons at 3 pm in the Tyler Recital Hall in the Mattie Kelly Arts Center.
