Students are required to hold a current Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic
Life Support (BLS) card. CPR must be good for two years for the EMT and Paramedic
programs. CPR must be current at the time of graduation as it is required for students
to sit for the boards. Students should obtain this before they enroll in the programs.
An applicant for EMT and Paramedic certification must hold either an American Red
Cross CPR for Professional Rescuer card, an American Heart Association BLS for the
Healthcare Provider or a CPR equivalent certification. See list below for CPR equivalents.
