Office Administration (A.S. Degree)

Northwest Florida State College offers an Associate in Science (A.S.) degree in Office Administration. Students may also complete a college credit certificate in Medical Office Management, Office Management or Office Specialist. Both the degree and certificate programs provide students with the educational background necessary for immediate entry into the job market. New students may begin this program of study in any term.

What is the job outlook?
Employment in corporate business, government, law firms, medical offices, schools, hospitals and other areas is open to individuals with training in this field. Office Administration positions are needed in almost every type of business. Today's office administrator is a key member of the office staff, serving in roles which require a wide variety of tasks ranging from production of reports, proposals, letters, minutes, newsletters and other documents to Internet research, calendar management, travel planning and scheduling, supplies management, and customer service. Office administration requires highly developed organizational skills, specialized computer expertise, the ability to set priorities and pursue multiple tasks at one time, as well as the ability to communicate effectively. Experienced individuals may supervise others.
