GED Classes

Adult Basic Education classes are offered each semester. These classes prepare students to take the General Education Development test for receipt of a high school equivalency diploma. Contact the the Literacy Center, 729-5387, or the Office of Enrollment Services, 850-729-6922 for additional information.

Grade Changes

If a student believes there is an inadvertent error in the recording or computation of his/her grade, the student should contact the instructor or the appropriate department office immediately. If an error has occurred, an adjustment to the student's permanent record will be made within approximately 10 working days. The student is responsible for reporting such concerns within 30 days of the close of the term in which the grade was awarded.

Graduation Ceremony

Northwest Florida State College conducts one graduation ceremony per year at the end of the Spring Semester. All potential graduates must apply for graduation and order regalia from the College Store by the deadline date. Students graduating at the end of the Fall or Summer semesters may participate in the annual graduation ceremony and will be invited to the yearly ceremony by the Office of Enrollment Services during the Spring Semester.

Graduation Regalia

Graduation Regalia (caps, gowns, tassels) are available at the College Stores approximately four weeks prior to graduation. There is no charge to students for those wishing to participate in the graduation ceremony. Graduates must have applied for graduation and will receive information from the Student Services Department about graduation and picking up their regalia. For additional information, contact the Niceville campus College Store at 729-5384.

Graduation Requirements

Students should meet with an academic advisor by mid-term of the semester prior to their last semester to ensure that all graduation requirements can be met as anticipated. Refer to the current catalog for all applicable graduation deadlines and requirements for different programs.
