A Message from the Chair of ISP

The Institute for Senior Professionals of the Northwest Florida State College is an organization of mostly retired men and women who have enjoyed careers as executives and professionals in many and varied fields of endeavor. The ISP is committed to providing a means for those talented professionals to support the programs of the College and to make meaningful contributions to our community through participation in problem solving for government and not-for-profit organizations. Our monthly meetings give us a chance to hear briefings by invited speakers on subjects relevant to our area, progress reports, and to be updated on NWFSC matters by the College President.

In pursuing its mission, ISP has established Critical Issue Focus Groups for understanding current issues in the areas of Environment and Natural Resources, Transportation, Disaster Response, College Involvement and Citizen Involvement. We also form project teams to participate in problem solving with many segments of local government, not-for-profit business, and charitable organizations. Some examples of activities in which we have been or are currently involved are included under "Recent Projects."

If you are a retired senior professional who has the energy and desire to get engaged in intellectually challenging problem solving for the good of our area with others of a like mind, please click this link to describe your background and see if it fits ISP's projected needs.

If you are with a government agency in Okaloosa, Walton, Santa Rosa, or Escambia counties and want an outside, independent view to assist you with a challenging problem, please contact me directly to find out how to submit a project request.

Regards, Darrell James, Chair
