Pay it Forward Okaloosa is a campaign that was started as a class project by Leadership Okaloosa class of 2009-2010. Leadership Okaloosa is a class put on by the Leadership Institute at Northwest Florida State College on behalf of the Chambers of Commerce in Okaloosa County. This class enables a diverse group of local leaders to increase their knowledge of their community while improving their leadership skills.
Pay it Forward Okaloosa is a very simple idea with a huge impact. Each member of the class was asked to perform at least three random acts of kindness in our community. These acts could be in the form of a monetary donation, sweat equity, or a donation of their expertise. When they were finished they would hand the person a Pay it Forward Okaloosa card. The instructions on how to pass it on are on the back of the card. Our hope was that by helping one person we would be helping many people. Together we can uplift and better Okaloosa County.
