Dental Assisting Students Complete NWF State College Program


Northwest Florida State College recently recognized the 2008 students who successfully completed the college's vocational certificate program in Dental Assisting.

Mary Thomas, dental program coordinator, noted that the NWF State College graduates are now certified for Dental Assisting throughout the state of Florida including Radiography Certification and other expanded functions. Graduates may also take the National Board Exam in Mobile to be eligible for jobs nationwide.

Graduates include: Bonnie Bodine of Baker, Lindsay Daugette, Lindsay Duncan, and Reba Martin of Crestview; Christina Barrero, Mindy Boline, and Talisha Lewis-Wooden of Eglin AFB; Andrea Bussey, Sharon Fuller of Fort Walton Beach; Heather Harrison of Freeport; Tiffany OBrien of Navarre; Natalie Heitman of Niceville, and Allison Adams of Santa Rosa Beach.

Thomas praised local dentists for their integral role in helping to train NWF State College Dental Assisting students. "Some dentists teach for the program as well as provide their offices for clinical practicum sites for our students," she said.
