4/2/2012

The Northwest Florida Symphony Chorale and Belle Voci, two choral ensembles representing Northwest Florida State College, will present a free concert, Choral Expressions of Praise, Poetry and Piety: the music of Hummel, Brahms, and Liszt, on April 14 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Niceville, located at 1407 East John Sims Parkway (Highway 20). Both groups are under the direction of NWFSC music professor Lois Van Dam. The Chorale, a select group of 38 auditioned student and community singers, will perform Hummel's Te Deum and the Liszt Missa Choralis. Bonita Clark will be the guest organist. Belle Voci, NWFSC women's ensemble, will perform Gesänge, Op. 17 by Brahms. This work is composed for women's chorus, two French horns, and harp. William Beckman and Charles White will play French horn, and Mary Brigid Roman will be harpist. The concert is free of charge, but donations to further the choral program at the college will be accepted. For further information, contact conductor Lois Van Dam at vandaml@nwfsc.edu.
