Professional Development One-Day Workshops Offered in Niceville & South Walton

The Costa Leadership Institute at Northwest Florida State College will host a series of non-credit, one-day seminars throughout April and May at both the college's Niceville campus and the South Walton Center. Registration for these professional development seminars will be accepted until the session date, space permitting. Individuals may register online or in person at any NWFSC campus or center.

Workshop topics in South Walton include: Business Writing; Social Media - Facebook, Twitter, Blogs; and Creating an Amazing Customer Experience.

Workshop topics in Niceville include: Servant Leadership; The W.O.W. - Women on Wellness; Getting The Best Out of Your People; Dealing with Difficult People; Change Management; Communicating Effectively With Your Target Audiences to Improve the Bottom Line; and Website SEO and How to Monetize Your Website.

The Costa Leadership Institute at NWFSC provides a variety of unique professional development opportunities and customized training options for individuals, businesses, government, military and non-profit organizations. NICEVILLE CAMPUS:


Servant Leadership on April 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Niceville campus. The course covers the Servant leadership style has been practiced all over the world in many successful companies. The course fee is $105
The W.O.W. (Women on Wellness) Symposium on April 13 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Niceville campus. This one-day educational event is designed to help women achieve balance and success in life, work and health. The symposium features keynote speaker is Hannah Curlee. "The Biggest Loser Season 11" runner-up who will help participants learn to increase resilience, eat better, lead a more balanced life, improve relationships, communications, and financial wellness. The event is co-sponsored by Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, Twin Cities Hospital and Northwest Florida State College Costa Leadership Institute. The fee is $40.
Getting the Best Out of Your People on April 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Niceville campus. The one-day seminar covers managing and motivating people successfully to close the gaps between your team's current outcomes and your desired results. The fee is $105.
Dealing with Difficult People on April 20 from 8:00 a.m. to Noon at the Niceville campus. Workplace success depends on understanding those you work with and knowing how to communicate with them in an effective manner. Real world scenarios will be presented with strategies to use when confronting a difficult situation. The fee is $70.
Change Management on April 25 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Niceville campus. This seminar presents a comprehensive model organizations can use to ensure that their personnel buy into changes, support them, and cooperate in making them succeed. The fee is $70.
Communicating Effectively With Your Target Audiences to Improve the Bottom Line on April 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the Niceville campus. This workshop includes strategies and practical tactics that businesses may adopt to communicate successfully with internal and external audiences, ultimately enhancing the corporate reputation and bottom line. The fee is $70.
Website SEO and How to Monetize Your Website on April 27 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Search engine optimization (SEO) can potentially improve and bring traffic to your business website. This course covers SEO, the advantages and potential damage that irresponsible SEO can do to your site, technical advice on site development (in regard to SEO), online business development campaigns, advice on how to get your site "to the top" and more. The fee is $80.

NWFSC SOUTH WALTON CENTER:
Business Writing on April 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the NWFSC South Walton Center. The fee is $105.
Social Media - Facebook, Twitter, Blogs on April 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the NWFSC South Walton Center. This hands-on, interactive workshop teaches businesses how to strategically leverage social media to build dynamic, engaged online communities to increase SEO ranking and position, build brand awareness and loyalty and develop new relationships. The fee is $160.
Creating an Amazing Customer Experience on May 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the NWFSC South Walton Center. A customer-driven company requires commitment, time, patience and effort on the part of the customer service team members. This workshop includes highly motivational elements, and drives home to participants the positive difference they can make in the lives of their customers. The fee is $70.
