The concert benefits the NWFSC Pacesetter Scholar Program that was established in 1995 by Mr. Bill Hall as part of the college's scholarship plan to assist African American male students to attend NWFSC. The selected students not only receive tuition assistance but have additional requirements that include successful completion of the college's Service Learning Seminar and 20 hours of community service mentoring in the local school district. The students must also maintain a minimum grade point average and complete twenty-four (24) semester hours during the academic year. The two year experience as a Pacesetter is focused on giving each scholar a well-rounded educational experience that goes beyond the classroom.
