Emergency Administration Management
Northwest Florida State College offers the Associate of Applied Science degree in Emergency Administration and Management. The degree program allows a student to concentrate in one of four areas of specialization -- Fire Science, Homeland Security, Criminal Justice or Emergency Administration. Man-made and natural disasters have increased the need for qualified professionals to work in a variety of local, regional, state and national roles as public safety managers, supervisors and administrators. The Northwest Florida State College degree program was specially designed to include vital competencies defined at the national level through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Additionally, the Fire Science area of emphasis meets the Florida State Fire College requirements for certification as a Level I Fire Officer.

The Emergency Administration and Management degree program provides students the training and knowledge necessary to manage and direct employees, programs and resources for those who desire a career in law enforcement, fire fighting, risk management, security services, or a variety of governmental positions. Private sector career opportunities in the in the corporate and business community are also open to individuals who complete the Emergency Administration and Management degree. The program also provides the necessary educational background for students to advance into the Northwest Florida State College Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree program with a major in Public Service Management.
