What subject areas does the TABE cover?

There are eight TABE subtests offered: Reading, Language, Language Mechanics, Spelling, Vocabulary, Writing, Applied Math, and Math Computation. There are different requirements and combinations of the subtests needed for each examinee depending on their program, agency, or employer. If you are completing the TABE for a program not required by NWFSC, you will need to determine which subtests you should complete prior arriving at the Testing Center.

Who must take the TABE?

Various vocational technical programs require the TABE test as a basis of admission into a particular program. In addition, local agencies and employers may require prospective employment candidates to provide TABE scores.

How can I prepare for the TABE?

TABE Study Guides are available at all bookstores. You may also choose to search the internet for TABE practice test information.

Where and when can I take the TABE?

If you are completing the TABE for a program not required by NWFSC, you will need to know which subtests you are required to complete prior to arriving at the Testing Center. You can get this information from your employer/ agency/ admissions office or whomever is requiring the test.

Can I re-take the TABE?
