Federal Stafford Loans: Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP)

Students are encouraged to complete their programs without borrowing, if at all possible; however, in some cases it may be necessary to borrow funds to help pay college-related expenses.

These loans require a separate paper application available only in the Financial Aid Office. NOTE: Because of the time necessary to process loans, both the completed (reviewed) FAFSA results and the loan application must be done at least four weeks prior to the beginning of the registration period for a term. Applications received after this date may result in not having loan proceeds available in time to assist with paying for registration.

On-line electronic applications will not be accepted or processed by the Financial Aid Office.

FFELP are Federal Stafford Loans that are made through commercial lenders and guaranteed by the federal government. The FFELP programs include the following:

If you have defaulted on a previous student loan, you may not be eligible to borrow from Northwest Florida State College.
