Fire Academy Graduates5/18/2015

On May 11, Northwest Florida State College recognized students who successfully completed the college's vocational certificate program for Firefighting Basic during the Spring 2015 academic semester.

Three graduates were recognized with special awards: Jason Rocco and Jourdan Perrin, both of Fort Walton Beach, received the Outstanding Leadership Award, and Taylor Stine of Crestview received the Academic Achievement Award for the highest class GPA.

Barry Reed, Director of Emergency Services, noted that the NWF State College graduates are now eligible to test for the state exam, which consists of a written and practical test. NWF Fire Academy graduates are also encouraged to apply for ProBoard certification, which could be beneficial to procure fire certification in other states.
