“Northwest Florida State College is the only community/state college on this list and that is cause for celebration for our nursing faculty, staff, and students,” said Dr. Devin Stephenson, President of NWF State College.  “This national ranking is a real distinction given the stiff competition. We are honored and will continue to create a culture of excellence and continuous improvement at NWF.”

College Choice, a leading authority in college and university resources, is an independent online publication dedicated to helping students and their families find the right college. Rankings are based on academic reputation, student satisfaction, affordability, and average annual salary of early career nurses from online BSN programs across the country to create a definitive ranking of the nation’s fifty best. Research for the ranking is qualified by the university and colleges’ websites as well as nationally recognized U.S. News & World Report and The National Center for Education Statistics.

“Health care is an expanding field of need in the United States, which means that more and more nursing positions are opening up,” said Christian Amondson, Editor, College Choice.  “In addition, there is a push to get as many registered nurses as possible to have a BSN. Therefore, online BSN programs, like Northwest Florida State College's, offer a great path forward for anyone considering a career in nursing. Many colleges and universities offer online BSN degrees, but Northwest Florida State College is the only one on our ranking that is a community/state college. It’s a sign that they specialize in adult and mid-career education, so if that describes you, you really ought to consider their program.”

NWF State College ranked 50 among the top 50 Best Online BSN programs in the nation.

“The faculty and staff who are a part of the nursing program are honored and humbled to be named in the 50 Best Online BSN Degrees for 2017 by Collegechoice.net,” said Dr. Marty Walker, Director of the Nursing Program at NWF. “The ability to achieve this level of success would not be possible without the dedicated faculty, college support staff, and community stakeholders.  The program will continue to work hard to stay at the top of the list in the coming years by delivering quality student focused nursing education, which the nursing student can use to further their career.”
