Blackwater Review Contributors Honored
Forty-seven student writers and artists were recently honored by Northwest Florida State College with selection of their work for inclusion in the 2012 Blackwater Review – a college publication which encourages student writing, art, and creative life by providing a showcase for meritorious work. All content in the college's annual literary and artistic journal is produced by NWFSC students. The competitive selection process drew more than 400 entries this year. The 2012 issue of the Blackwater Review journal is available for purchase for $5 in the college bookstores on the Niceville and Fort Walton campuses and at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries.
Recognized for the selection of her work to appear on the cover of the journal was Jaime Diffee of Fort Walton Beach (photo attached), for her work "Tolype Velleda" – which was also recently awarded first place in the two-dimensional art category of the Arnie Hart Juried Student Art Exhibition. Katie Rendon Kahn of Destin won the Blackwater Review Editor's Prize for writing this year.
