Costa Leadership Institute: Register Now for Fall 2012

The Costa Leadership Institute at Northwest Florida State College will offer a series of business skills and professional development trainings throughout August to November at the college's Niceville campus. Open registration for the short-term training courses and one day seminars is now in progress. Register online, in person at any NWFSC campus or center, or by mail. Open enrollment is accepted until the session date – space permitting. Fees range from $80 to $250.

Fall training topics include: Conversational Spanish for the business professional; Public Speaking; Effective Communications; Social Media; Website SEO; Customer Service; Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, Word; Servant Leadership; Generational Diversity, Dynamic Resilience, Conflict Resolution, Stress Management and more. The Costa Leadership Institute at NWFSC provides a variety of unique professional development opportunities and customized training options for individuals, businesses, government, military and non-profit organizations. The programs of the Costa Leadership Institute are specially designed to support the economic and workforce development of our region and our vital role in the state and global economy. Offerings of the Institute include customized training for organizations, fall and spring open enrollment training schedules, guest speakers, and community leadership programs such as Leadership Okaloosa and Collegiate High School Leadership Program, as well as special event facilities.   • The Change Cycle: A Blueprint for a More Balanced Work and Personal Life
  • August 16 from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm. Do you feel stuck in a dead end job/relationship? Are you searching for a way to add more meaning to your life? Learn how to use the Change Cycle tool to balance your life and to facilitate everything from finding a new job to finally losing those last 10 pounds.

  • Appreciative Team Building: Getting the Best Out of Your People
  • , August 21, from 8:30 am-3:30 pm. Managing and motivating people successfully is a dynamic, evolving and highly personal process. You'll leave this training renewed, re-energized and inspired to create a powerful results-oriented team that gets things done and is a credit to your leadership.

  • Effective Communications: Enhance Your Visibility, Relationships & Results
  • August 24, from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm. Effective communication strategies are critical to the success of a business, yet communicating effectively is often one of the most challenging tasks. This workshop includes strategies and practical tactics that businesses may adopt to communicate successfully with internal and external audiences, ultimately enhancing your corporate reputation and bottom line.
