NWF State College Hosts Open House for New Nursing Simulation Center during inaugural Healthcare Simulation Week

NICEVILLE, FL- NWF State College’s nursing program will host an open house from 9 a.m.– 3 p.m. on September 14 and 15 on the Niceville Campus in the basement of Building 420 to showcase their new nursing simulation center during Healthcare Simulation Week.

The center is designed to give NWF State College nursing students exposure to a hospital-type setting to care for a variety of patients in a safe environment. The center has a variety of high-tech mannequins, including adult, pediatric, infant and newborn simulators.

The inaugural Healthcare Simulation Week celebrates global professionals who use simulation to improve the safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of healthcare delivery. It is designed to assist healthcare professionals in raising awareness in their community about how healthcare simulation is leading us to safer, more knowledgeable patient care.

“We have a unique opportunity with this center to now provide a realistic learning space for students to learn and grow in a safe, non-life threatening environment,” says Dr. Elizabeth Robison, Simulation Center Coordinator and Professor of Nursing.
