Collin Zeigler selected as a Chancellor's Student of the Month

Northwest Florida State College student Christian “Collin” Zeigler is featured in the August 2015 edition of the Florida College System newsletter as a Chancellor's Student of the Month. Each month, the Florida College System spotlights students from among the 28 state colleges who are worthy of recognition. The newsletter is distributed to nearly 800 stakeholders across the state, and the students selected also receive a certificate of recognition and letter from the chancellor.

Zeigler selected as Chancellor's SOMZeigler, a Fort Walton Beach High School graduate in his second year at NWF State College, is pursuing an associate of arts degree while also serving as a student ambassador and in the Student Government Association. According to the article in the FCS newsletter, “Collin rises to any challenge placed in front of him and, more often than not, can be found stepping forward to lead his peers. … In his leadership roles, Collin also challenges and encourages his fellow students to strive to be their best.”

The article highlights Collin’s work as a junior instructor for child self-defense, his internship with Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, and his volunteer service at the Ronald McDonald House during its Christmas Connection program. “Collin manages to accomplish all of his volunteer work and studies while maintaining a 3.68 GPA and working at a local pizzeria,” the article says. “Upon graduation, Collin plans to continue his education and pursue a career in International Relations.”
