Northwest Florida State College Fine Arts Students Excel at 62nd Annual Florida Theatre Conference

NWF State College Students at Florida Theatre Conference

NICEVILLE, FL- Students from Northwest Florida State College’s Humanities and Fine Arts Division attended the Florida Theatre Conference (FTC) at Santa Fe College in Gainesville on November 8-11  to showcase their singing, acting and performance abilities to more than 60 colleges and universities.

At the conference, students audition for callbacks, which indicate high interest from transfer universities. NWF State students collectively received 109 callbacks from 37 colleges.

NWF State offers a course specifically tailored to teach students how to be successful at college and university auditions, including how to choose appropriate literature, creating an individual portfolio to include a resume and headshots and personal marketing and other entrepreneurial skills.  The students in this course perform for each other in class, hold mock auditions and provide constructive feedback to their peers.
