About Jason Byrd
At 19, Jason Byrd became the third generation to serve as a firefighter in Tallahassee while simultaneously pursuing a passion for Country music. Raised on hymns and Country tunes, his talent for singing and songwriting led him to Nashville, where an encounter with George Jones changed his life. George and Nancy Jones managed Jason's career, leading to performances across the U.S. and Canada, opening for stars like Billy Dean and Joe Diffie, and appearing on the Grand Ole Opry. After George’s passing in 2013, Jason returned home to focus on family and firefighting, but in 2019, after 28 years of service, he left to fully commit to music. In 2021, he released a duet with George Jones, "Better Life," which was nominated for the Josie Music Awards' "Single of the Year." His latest single, "She’s Coming Back Saloon," will be released in March 2024, alongside recent nominations for "Song of the Year" at the 2023 Josie Music Awards.
