Graduation is held once a year at the end of Spring Semester.  You must have filed for graduation with the Registrar’s Office prior to the published deadline for the Spring Semester and be eligible to participate. Students will receive notification via their RaiderNet account regarding the graduation ceremony. Information can also be found on the college webpage under Records and Registration.  Full academic regalia (cap, gown, tassel, baccalaureate stole) is required for participation. Complete regalia must be purchased prior to the ceremony through the Barnes and Noble College Bookstore on the Niceville Campus. Students must apply for graduation before a degree will be posted on an official transcript. During the next to last term of enrollment, students should contact an academic advisor or counselor to ensure they meet all graduation requirements. Final responsibility for meeting graduation requirements rests with the student, including applying for graduation by the deadline. If a student does not meet graduation requirements in the semester for which they have applied, the student must re-apply for graduation in the term they plan to complete the requirements.


To be eligible for graduation a student must have a complete admission file. This includes all certificate programs as well. All official transcripts must be received before the program completion can be posted to the transcript. If a student has an incomplete file or is completing the remaining courses as a transient student at a different institution, the official transcript must be received by the current semester’s deadline. Refer to your student email account for notifications regarding the deadline.

How to Apply

Students may apply for graduation in RaiderNet by clicking here, or by navigating to the Student tab, select Student Forms, and then Graduation Application. Students who are at least 75% complete in their program of study will be given the option to apply for graduation online. If you are not given the option to apply online, but believe you have completed 75% or more of your program of study, contact the Office of Enrollment Services or make an appointment to see an academic advisor or counselor. Diplomas are issued with the name students provide on their graduation application.

Commencement Information

On-time arrival for graduation ceremonies is critical since no rehearsal takes place prior to the ceremonies. Graduates, please do not bring personal belongings, as there is no secure place to store them. You should arrive dressed in your cap and gown, with tassel situated on the right side of your cap, no later than 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony. Report to the check-in point in the breezeway entrance to the Raider Club. You will need to pick up your white card from Student Affairs at check in.

Graduation ceremonies begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. for Graduates of Certificate, Associate of Applied Science, Associate of Science, and Bachelor Degrees.

Graduation ceremonies begin promptly at 2:00 p.m. for Graduates of Associate Arts and Florida High School Diplomas (GED).

Arena doors will open to guests one hour prior to the start of the ceremony. Seating is available on a first-come-first-served basis, including seating for guests with disabilities. Anyone (student or guest) with disabilities attending the ceremony can contact the Disability Support Services office at (850) 729-6079 or for more information about accommodations.


Full academic regalia (cap, gown, tassel, baccalaureate stole) is required for participation. Baccalaureate stoles MUST be worn and are available for an additional cost. You must present your Student ID Card to pick up regalia.  Extra tassels are available for purchase. Borrowed regalia is not permitted.

We encourage students to dress appropriately. Women should wear dark dresses and shoes, without high collars or bows around the neck. Corsages and jewelry around the robe are not allowed. Men should wear dark trousers, shoes, socks, and tie, and a white shirt.

Honor Cords

Honor cords will be distributed at check-in on the day of the ceremony. Cords are awarded to students based on their cumulative GPA as follows:

Phi Theta Kappa members should contact Ms. Donna Pierson prior to the ceremony to ensure good standing and eligibility to wear the PTK honor regalia.
