The Specialized Associate in Arts Transfer degree (S.A.A.T.) allows students to complete more than 60 credit hours in preparation for their intended bachelor’s degree program as opposed to the Associate in Arts degree which is limited to 60 credit hours. The S.A.A.T. degree is designed to meet the general education requirements, the Common Program Prerequisites of the identified bachelor’s degree program as well as any additional coursework needed for the program.
Northwest Florida State College has partnered with the University of West Florida to offer four S.A.A.T. degrees.

Upon completion of the S.A.A.T degree at NWFSC the student is guaranteed admission into the identified bachelor’s degree program at the University of West Florida. The total credit hours need for each S.A.A.T. degree varies and may require more than two years to complete.
Complete Your Engineering Degree Close to Home
Students may complete the S.A.A.T. through Northwest Florida State College
and continue into the corresponding University of West Florida engineering
bachelor’s program at the NWFSC/UWF Fort Walton Beach campus. This provides a
local pathway to complete both degrees without leaving Northwest Florida.
