At Northwest Florida State College, we are opening our doors to help you obtain your CDL license. Whether you need testing for Class A, B or C license, a refresher course before you attempt the driving test, or want to branch out into the opportunities provided by the open road, we are here to support you. View our options below.

Before testing at our site, you may want to consider participating in our Expedited Test Prep. This training consists of at least a few hours of review before test day. We will review pre-trip inspections and controlled skills maneuvers you will be tested on. Please keep in mind you will want to plan a short-term training session within five days prior to being tested.

We are open to all drivers testing for Class A, B or C. You will supply the vehicle that you will use during the drive test so the pre-trip will be specific and relevant for test day. Northwest Florida State College has the option for you to test for Class A in one of our semi-tractor and trailer combination vehicles for an additional fee. All other combinations and classes will require you to provide the vehicle you will be testing for in the short-term training option.

Class A, B, C $50.00 for each additional Hour No

Our New Driver Training Program consists of a 8-Week program to help new drivers looking to become a holder of a Class A license. The goal is to help individuals enter the trucking industry whether that be for local, regional or Over-the-Road (OTR). Our training prepares individuals to complete a full bumper-to-bumper inspection of tractor and trailer combination vehicles, practice controlled skills maneuvers and drive the vehicles on the road.

In addition, we will have class time to review Logs, Hours of Service, Pre-Plans and more. Students will practice on a state-of-the-art driving simulator where they will experience potential conditions and scenarios faced by truck driving professionals.

To get started, you will need to obtain the following prior to the start date of class.

  • CDL Class A permit
  • DOT Medical Card

Please keep in mind when scheduling your appointments to ensure the location is DOT approved, and be prepared for delays obtaining these items due to safety regulations.
