NWF State College Teacher Education Department Hosts Successful Site Visit

NICEVILLE- Northwest Florida State College recently hosted a representative from the Florida Department of Education for a routine site visit for the college’s Teacher Education department. In all four areas of evaluation, the department earned positive ratings.

“The exceptional feedback that our Teacher Education department has been given is very difficult to achieve, but they have definitely earned it,” says Dr. Devin Stephenson, President. “These positive results prove that NWF State College is effectively preparing our region’s future educators.”

After the evaluation, the representative from the Department of Education requested that NWF State College share their teaching models with schools throughout the state.

The department’s top three strengths cited are:

  • Frequent and strong connections between coursework and practice.
  • The college’s revised clinical observation process.
  • The transparent and ongoing cycle of data analysis and continuous improvement, in which all faculty are clearly involved.
