Three Collegiate High School Students Nominated to Military Academies

NICEVILLE, FL– Collegiate High School (CHS) at Northwest Florida State College students Nicholas Gestring (Niceville), Shannon Reynolds (Santa Rosa Beach) and Julia Kammer (Fort Walton Beach) were nominated by Representative Matt Gaetz to military academies.

“To have three of our only 97 high school seniors nominated to the academies speaks volumes of the dedication of the students at Collegiate High School,” says Dr. Devin Stephenson, NWF State President. “This distinction shows that Collegiate High School and the courses the students are taking at NWF State are adequately preparing them for a successful future.”

Gestring, Reynolds and Kammer were recognized at a ceremony on January 23 at Niceville High School. Gestring and Reynolds received appointments to the Air Force Academy and Kammer received an appointment to the Naval Academy.

“We are very proud of the CHS students selected this year as nominees to the United States service academies,” says Collegiate High School Principal Anthony Boyer. “These students embrace the concept of innovation and initiative. I have no doubt they will dutifully serve their country and lead this nation into a brighter future.”
