NWF State College hosts Crestview Area Chamber of Commerce Duck Race

NICEVILLE, FL — The  Foundation of the Crestview Area Chamber of Commerce (CACC) organized a Duck Race on the campus of Northwest Florida State College in Niceville on April 14 to raise scholarship funds for graduating high school students in Okaloosa County planning to attend technical colleges.

Grand prize winners for the fastest ducks were the Auburn Water System and Crestview Nursery. Both companies donated their winnings back to the scholarship fund. Individuals won the other eight $100 prizes, either in cash or gift cards.

The following students were awarded scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each: Lane Boone (Baker School) and Hannah Rae Smith (Crestview High School). These graduates will be attending Northwest Florida State College and Okaloosa Technical College, respectively.

Thanks to the following prize sponsors: Emerald Coast Aviation ($1,000), Dr. Richard Thomas ($100), Wise Equipment Company ($100), Sunshine Aero, Inc. ($100), Okaloosa Gas System ($100), Eglin Federal Credit Union ($100), Friends of the Arts ($100), Friends of the Foundation of the Crestview Chamber ($100), and Auburn Water System ($100).

The Foundation of the CACC is a 501c3 entity and donations are tax deductible. Anyone wishing to donate to the organization may do so via a check made payable to Foundation of the CACC, mailing address PO Box 514, Crestview, FL 32536.
