NWFSC President to serve on regional college accreditation Board of Trustees

NICEVILLE — Dr. Devin Stephenson, president of Northwest Florida State College, has been selected by the Delegate Assembly of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools/Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to serve a second term on the Board of Trustees.

SACSCOC is a coalition of colleges in 11 southeastern U.S. states whose mission is to assure educational quality and to improve the effectiveness of its member institutions. Members of the SACSCOC Board of Trustees are elected to three-year terms by a majority vote of the members of the College Delegate Assembly.

“It was a great honor to be selected to serve on the SACSCOC Board of Trustees when I was first appointed three years ago, and it is an even greater honor to be asked to return for a second term,” said Stephenson. “I am pleased to be engaged with an organization committed to ensuring the educational quality and effectiveness of its member institutions.”

Dr. Stephenson received his Ed.D. in Administration of Higher Education and Master of Arts in Administration of Higher Education from the University of Alabama, his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Birmingham-Southern College and his Associate of Science from Walker Junior College.
