2022-2023 NWFSC President’s Leadership Academy Service Project
This year’s President’s Leadership Academy invites you to provide donations to two wonderful causes: Children in Crisis and Alaqua Animal Refuge. Collection boxes will be placed in various locations (including Bldgs 400 and 310) for you to drop off any donations. There will be additional collection locations at events during the 12 Days of Celebrations. Let’s give these two charities a great holiday season!
CHILDREN IN CRISIS
Children in Crisis (www.childrenincrisisfl.org) is a local non-profit charity committed to “Providing Homes… Keeping Brothers and Sisters Together.” Suggested donations include paper products, pantry items, and gift cards for grocery stores, clothing stores, or gas stations. Children range in age from 0 to 21 years old.
Examples of items include, but are not limited to:
- Toilet Paper
- Paper Towels
- Paper plates/bowls/utensils
- Personal care items: toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body spray, deodorant, feminine hygiene products
- Diapers, baby hygiene items
All donated items and materials must be new.
ALAQUA ANIMAL REFUGE
Alaqua Animal Refuge (www.alaqua.org) is a local no-kill facility founded in 2007 that provides shelter to animals such as dogs, cats, horses, cows, and birds. Suggested donations include Purina One dry dog food for small and large dogs; Purina One for cats (sensitive stomach variety); Dawn dish soap; paper towels; dog and cat beds; non-clumping cat litter; Buckeye Nutrition Safe ‘n’ Easy Senior Low Sugar, Low Starch Horse Feed; dog collars; and gift cards for Dollar General.
The drop zones for items will be the following:
- Human Resources Office
- Building 400: Main entry off the circular driveway
- Building 410: Raider Hangar Area
- Building 500: Circulation Desk
