Program Details

The Nursing Assistant certificate program prepares students to become certified nursing assistants through the Florida Board of Nursing. Students will learn how to provide basic patient care and how to assist with activities of daily living. After the completion of this certificate program, students will be eligible to sit for the Certified Nursing Assistant examination through the Florida Board of Nursing.

The Nursing Assistant program is 165 clock hours, 8-weeks long, and includes a clinical internship through a local long-term care facility. The 8-week long program is hybrid, combining online learning and in-person training. This program offers extensive hands-on experience and preparation of real-world scenarios. Each class has a maximum of 12 students, admitted on a first come, first serve basis.

Students will be required to undergo a level 1 background check, a drug screen, and provide immunization records for clearance at the local long-term care facilities. To be eligible to sit for the Certified Nursing Assistant examination through the Florida Board of Nursing, students must be 18 years of age by the date of the test or provide a high school diploma, or its equivalent.
